Tulip gardens in Jammu and Kashmir have become a major tourist attraction. The Shere Kashmir University is establishing a centre to reduce dependence on imported tulip bulbs from the Netherlands and promote local production. Similar gardens have been set up in Pulwama and Kokernag areas of South Kashmir as research initiatives.
