‘Kashmiris Are Indians, Not Pakistanis ‘: Javed Akhtar Slams Pakistan’s Kashmir Narrative
Javed Akhtar strongly condemned the false narrative surrounding Kashmir, emphasizing that Pakistan’s propaganda and its establishment have long tried to claim Kashmir as a part of Pakistan. He pointed out the lies surrounding this claim, stressing that in 1948, it was the Kashmiri locals who fought back the Pakistani forces for three days before Indian troops arrived. Akhtar highlighted that the majority of Kashmiris are loyal to India, and any actions that target or harm Kashmiris, especially outside Kashmir, only serve to support Pakistan’s divisive agenda. He urged that Kashmiris, wherever they are in India, should feel safe and supported, and that it is a grave mistake to label them as Pakistanis.
