Kashmir Valley has received heavy snowfall after a three-month wait. Mountainous areas like Gurez, Gulmarg, Sonmarg, and Pahalgam have seen 3-5 feet of fresh snow. The snowfall has wiped out a 40% deficit, alleviating concerns about water shortages. While boosting tourism prospects, it also brings avalanche threats. Another western disturbance is expected around 3rd March, potentially bringing more snow.
