In the aftermath of the tragic stampede in Karur, actor and TVK chief Vijay has started reaching out to victims’ families via video conferencing. He has offered personal support, telling families, "I am with you, I will stand by you." The political fallout continues as BJP Tamil Nadu leader K. Annamalai criticised actor-politician Kamal Haasan for defending the administration. Annamalai accused Haasan of compromising his neutrality, stating, "Kamal Haasanji has sold his soul long time back for one Rajya Sabha seat." In response, Haasan, who provided financial aid to the families, asserted the tragedy should not be politicized. Meanwhile, a legal challenge has reached the Supreme Court, which has agreed to hear a plea on October 10 demanding a CBI probe into the incident after it was denied by the Madras High Court.
