The political party TVK is raising questions about the official report on the stampede in Karur, where 41 people reportedly lost their lives. The party has cast doubt on the inquest report and the official death toll, claiming that past deaths from the hospital may have been included in the list of stampede victims. A key question raised by the party is whether the individuals listed as deceased were actually present at the location of the incident. According to the TVK’s lawyer, Aadav Arjuna, the haste in completing the autopsies overnight is also being questioned. The party is now seeking a thorough identification of the bodies and a recount, asking of the victims, "Did they really die at the spot?".
