Karur Stampede: Judge Probing Tragedy In Row After CM Stalin Attends Family Wedding | India Today

A new controversy has erupted amid the ongoing SIT probe into the Karur stampede that claimed 41 lives. Social media users have targeted Madras High Court Judge Senthil Kumar, who is overseeing aspects of the probe, after Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin was seen at the judge’s family wedding. This comes after the same judge had slammed TVK chief Vijay for fleeing the stampede spot. An NDA fact-finding team has investigated the tragedy, blaming it on "complete administrative failure and mismanagement" and "gross negligence". The team’s report noted the venue, meant for 3,000 people, was packed with 30,000. In response to the NDA committee, Chief Minister MK Stalin has questioned "why such committee was not sent immediately to areas like Manipur, Gujarat or Uttarakhand". Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Police have arrested three people for allegedly slandering the judge on social media.
