The political fallout from the Karur stampede tragedy, which claimed 41 lives, has intensified with a full-blown blame game between Tamil Nadu’s ruling DMK and actor-politician Vijay’s TVK. A day after Vijay alleged that the state government was using the probe as a "revenge plan", Tamil Nadu Police ramped up efforts to arrest top TVK leaders, including Joint General Secretary Nirmal Kumar and General Secretary Bussy Anand. Both leaders have already filed for anticipatory bail. Meanwhile, the DMK has countered the sabotage claims by releasing videos purportedly showing violations and overcrowding during the rally. With growing speculation about mismanagement vs. conspiracy, questions remain on accountability and justice for victims’ families.
