The political and legal fallout from the deadly Karur stampede continues to intensify in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Vetri Karagam (TVK) has claimed a ‘no-blame twist’, stating that the families of the victims have absolved party chief Vijay of all responsibility. According to the TVK, during video calls, the families urged him to continue his political journey with one quoted as saying, "you should be brave, don’t give up and keep on fighting. We will always be with you, without exception." This comes as the DMK continues to question Vijay’s delayed arrival at the rally and accuses him of shirking responsibility. The legal battle is also escalating, with a victim’s parent, the BJP, and the TVK all approaching the Supreme Court seeking independent probes into the tragedy.
