First visuals have emerged of TVK chief Vijay, 36 hours after a stampede during his rally in Karur resulted in 41 deaths. Vijay has moved from his Neelankarai residence to another in Chennai and is holding video conferences with his team on legal matters. The TVK party is seeking legal recourse following the tragedy, with leader Nirmal Kumar filing a petition with the NHRC for an independent or CBI probe. The party has also approached the Madras High Court. Following the incident, Vijay stated on platform X that he is “deeply heartbroken and in a sorrow state of affairs after this tragic incident cost 41 lives till date”. He also announced an ex-gratia of over 20 lakh rupees for the families of the deceased.
