Following the tragedy, Tamil Nadu Governor Aaryan Ravi has sought an explanation from Chief Minister Stalin’s government regarding the choice of the venue. The TVK has faced criticism as its leader, Vijay, did not visit the victims and returned to Chennai. A TVK representative, ECR Saravanan, stated that responsibility falls on the police. Saravanan claimed, "had police been given the adequate protection, this would not have occurred."
