Karnataka lost 75 tigers in 5 years; 13 died of unnatural causes, one in accident

Karnataka witnessed the loss of 75 tigers between April 2020 and August 2025. Nagarahole and Bandipur recorded the highest number of deaths. Natural causes accounted for most fatalities. However, unnatural deaths occurred due to poisoning, snaring, and poaching. The forest department is taking measures to protect tigers. They are relocating tigers and monitoring their movements.
