A horrific incident occurred in Haasan, Karnataka, where a truck lost control and rammed into a Ganpati procession, injuring over 20 people. The death toll from the tragedy has unfortunately risen to 10 after two more individuals succumbed to their injuries. Authorities have apprehended the driver, who was also injured in the incident and is receiving medical treatment. In response to the tragedy, the government has announced a compensation of ₹5 lakh for the victims’ families. Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah have both expressed their condolences following the accident.
