In a significant political development, a survey commissioned by the Karnataka government has revealed that 83.61% of citizens in the state trust Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The report, titled ‘Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of Citizens after Lok Sabha 2024 Elections’, was published by the Karnataka Monitoring and Evaluation Authority. India Today’s Nagarjun Dwarkana reports that these findings contradict the ‘Vote Chori’ narrative pushed by the Congress and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. BJP Spokesperson G.S. Prashant stated, ‘The survey results are here to show the faith of the people in the EVM,’ adding that the Congress claims are baseless. The survey, which covered 5,100 respondents across 102 assembly constituencies, was commissioned by Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer V. Anbu Kumar.
