The Karnataka government has ordered a probe into the ‘vote chori’ (vote theft) controversy by forming a CID team. This Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be headed by senior IPS officer BK Singh. The investigation follows allegations made by Rahul Gandhi, who claimed that 6,018 voters’ names were deleted in 2023 in Karnataka. The probe will focus on alleged malpractices in Mahadevpura, a constituency in Bengaluru, and the Aland constituency in Kalaburagi. An official order has been issued by the government confirming the appointment of BK Singh to lead the investigation into the allegations raised by Rahul Gandhi and other leaders regarding the deletion of voters’ names from the electoral rolls.
