Karnataka has introduced a new garbage tax for Bengaluru residents. The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to charge property owners based on plot size, with a 1200 square feet plot paying around 400 rupees per year. This tax will be added to the property tax and divided among apartment residents. The garbage tax follows recent hikes in milk, water, and electricity prices in Bengaluru.
