A rift has emerged within the Karnataka Congress over the transfer of engineers from the Public Works Department. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who heads the Water Resources Ministry, has expressed displeasure over Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s transfer orders. Shivakumar claims engineers only seek promotions in his department and do not wish to stay. The opposition BJP has criticized the Congress, stating that this internal conflict is hindering the state’s development.
