The primary focus is to create awareness among Vokkaligas to ensure they correctly record their caste details during the survey. This comes from a fear that incorrect spellings or omissions could lead to an undercounting of their population. A key concern noted is, “if one person also skips giving the name in the caste survey, then the population of the Vokaligars will be going low.” This gathering is happening amidst a controversy over the caste survey, which has been challenged through several PILs in the Karnataka High Court.
