The woman has filed a complaint alleging that after their engagement, Prateek repeatedly raped her on the pretext of marriage. According to the victim’s claim, Prateek "threatened to call off the marriage" and would force himself on her. The complaint states these incidents occurred in multiple locations, including Bengaluru and Shirdi. The MLA, Prabhu Chauhan, has alleged the accusations are a political conspiracy. Prateek is reportedly absconding, and an FIR has also been registered against his father.
