Kargil War Hero’s Brother Narrates Vikram Batra’s Heroism | Nationalist Collective Conclave 2.0
At the Nationalist Collective Conclave 2.0, Vishal Batra, twin brother of Kargil War hero Captain Vikram Batra, delivered a stirring narration of his brother’s heroism during the 1999 Kargil War. Vishal recounted Captain Vikram Batra’s extraordinary bravery as a 24-year-old officer of the 13 Jammu and Kashmir Rifles, who led critical missions to recapture strategic peaks in the Drass sector. He highlighted Vikram’s fearless leadership in securing Point 5140 on June 20, 1999, and his ultimate sacrifice on July 7, 1999, while saving a fellow officer, Lt. Naveen Anaberu, during the assault on Point 4875, now known as Batra Top. Vishal shared the iconic battle cry, “Yeh Dil Maange More,” which became a symbol of Vikram’s indomitable spirit, and his resolute words, “Either I will hoist the Tricolor, or I will come back wrapped in it.” Awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, Vikram, known as “Sher Shah,” left a lasting legacy. Vishal’s emotional narrative underscored his brother’s courage, patriotism, and the family’s pride, aligning with the conclave’s focus on honoring India’s heroes and fostering national unity.
