An explosion occurred on Wednesday evening in Mishapur market, within the Moolganj police station area of Kanpur. According to a primary investigation by police, the incident was a crackers blast. The explosion resulted in injuries to eight people, four of whom are seriously injured and have been admitted to Lucknow SDPG. The blast damaged two scooties that were parked near the shop where the incident happened, with visuals showing significant damage to a red-coloured scooter seen in CCTV footage. While locals and shopkeepers initially claimed it was an explosive blast, the police’s primary finding points towards crackers. Authorities are now investigating a larger nexus of illegal crackers in the Moolganj area.
