Kannada film actor Ranya Rao was apprehended at Bengaluru airport attempting to smuggle over 14 kilograms of gold valued at ₹12 crore from Dubai. Rao, daughter of IPS officer Ramachandra Rao, DGP Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation, allegedly concealed the gold in her jacket. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) intercepted Rao based on a tip-off. She has been sent to judicial custody.
