At a book launch marking the RSS’s centenary year, India Today’s Executive Editor-in-Chief, Kali Puri, made two significant suggestions to RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat. She introduced the concept of ‘gross domestic behavior’ to argue that economic growth must be matched by ethical growth, highlighting a finding that in one state, 94% of respondents accept corruption as a necessity. The pivotal moment came when she called for the inclusion of women in the leadership council of the main RSS organization. "I believe some representation is necessary in the core council, if we want to bring about societal change," she stated, emphasizing that inclusion should be based on merit. Mohan Bhagwat acknowledged the suggestion, noting the role of the Rashtra Sevika Samiti and committing to widen female participation in implementation bodies. A three-day RSS symposium is scheduled from August 26th to 28th at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhavan.
