Afghan activist Wazhama Ayoubi, speaking from Dubai, condemns Pakistan following an attack on a drug rehabilitation centre in Kabul that killed over 400 people and injured more than 300 during Ramadan. She accuses Pakistan’s military establishment of repeatedly targeting civilian areas, including hospitals and refugee camps, stating ‘this is a massacre’. She criticises the international community, saying ‘the United Nations and the world just watches’ and that deaths in Afghanistan are treated as ‘just a number’. The Taliban spokesperson has warned that attacks on Kabul will be met with attacks on Islamabad. Ayoubi calls the hospital bombing ‘a war crime’ and ‘the biggest violation of all the international laws’, noting that Pakistan also struck locations in Nangarhar, Khost and Paktia provinces. She alleges Pakistan has meddled in Afghan affairs for over 40 years, previously sheltering the Taliban and now attacking Afghanistan directly.
