Iran has claimed it carried out a missile and drone strike on a US-operated airbase in Saudi Arabia, alleging damage to military assets. According to Iran’s state broadcaster, Iranian strikes at Saudi Arabia’s Prince Sultan Air Base damaged a US E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft, along with multiple refuelling aircraft. There is no confirmation from the US Central Command regarding the loss of their assets. Iran has also claimed targeting the USS Abraham Lincoln and US fighter jets, including F-35s. A missile hit destroyed a chemical factory producing phosphorus and ammonia near the area, causing thick smoke and concerns about chemical spillover. The region has been cordoned off. The military conflict continues to intensify despite diplomatic engagement and back-channel talks. Israel has been carrying out nightly airstrikes over Tehran and other parts of Iran, claiming to have targeted missile facilities, silos, factories, and mobile command centres of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. Anti-war protests have gained traction, with demonstrators gathering at Habima Square in Tel Aviv, calling on US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop the war.
