A stunning video from inside Justice Yashwant Varma’s house has been accessed. The video, from the night of the fire incident at his resident, shows officers wading through piles of large stashes of cash. The video, seems to establish conclusively that the sitting High Court judge’s home did have large stashes of hard cash. The video flies in the face of the desperate clumsy narrative being made – one that has witnessed wishy washy versions after versions from the fire department on the aspect of the presence of large amount of hard cash being unearthed from the home of the Judge. The video also raises serious questions on the decision of the Supreme Court collegium to have transferred the judge instead of taking a firmer view.

It is extremely unfortunate that the action of the Supreme Court of India has come under scrutiny. But how would it not be, and why should it not come under scrutiny, when the fact is that the Supreme Court has not acted effectively enough till date on a cash scam involving a very senior high court judge?
If it is true that ₹15 crore in cash was found burning in his house, and that cash was unaccounted for, and if this case goes back to the 14th of this month, that is almost a week back, then why has the Supreme Court done nothing till date? If this matter was brought to the notice of the Honorable Supreme Court and the collegium, and if the matter was within the knowledge of the collegium, then why has the collegium, in the pendency of action on the complaint, chosen to transfer this judge to the Allahabad High Court?
