Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa condemned the ‘provocative’ slogans raised at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) following the Supreme Court’s rejection of bail for Delhi riots accused Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. Reacting to the chants, Sirsa alleged that opposition parties are fueling such elements for vote bank politics. He stated, ‘Whenever you see, behind the gangsters, either the common man party will be seen or Congress will be seen.’ The BJP leader welcomed the apex court’s decision to deny relief to the accused in the 2020 conspiracy case.
