Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are engaged in a multi-pronged anti-terror operation. In Udhampur, a gunfight is underway where three to four terrorists, believed to be from Jaish-e-Mohammad, have been trapped by joint forces; one soldier has been injured in the exchange. Separately, the Counterintelligence Kashmir (CIK) is conducting raids at eight locations across seven districts, including Srinagar and Baramulla, in connection with a terror crime case, recovering digital evidence and documents. In another development in Poonch district, a terror conspiracy was foiled with the recovery of 20 Chinese hand grenades. An on-ground report suggests the consignment was recently dumped to be moved to the hinterlands for terror activities, with a colleague stating, “20 hand grenades means 20 potential terrorist incidents have been watered have been foiled.”
