In a recent escalation of violence in Jammu and Kashmir, two soldiers lost their lives on August 10 in an intense exchange of gunfire with terrorists in Anantnag. The deadly encounter occurred during a joint operation by the Indian Army, J&K Police, and CRPF in Kokernag, situated at an altitude of 10,000 feet. Despite the challenging terrain, security forces are conducting a rigorous manhunt in the dense forests to locate and neutralize the terrorists.
The situation has been further complicated by the release of sketches of four terrorists seen in Malhar, Bani, and Seojdhar, with a bounty of ₹5 lakh placed on each. Additionally, extensive search operations are ongoing in Kishtwar following another exchange of fire on August 11. The recent months have seen a disturbing rise in terror attacks in the region, resulting in the deaths of over 10 soldiers and numerous civilians. The situation remains tense as security forces continue their efforts to restore peace and safety in the area.
