Janata Dal (United) leader and adviser K.C. Tyagi discusses the National Democratic Alliance’s election victory in Bihar, attributing the success to the leadership of Nitish Kumar and the BJP. In a conversation with India Today’s Consulting Editor Rajdeep Sardesai, Tyagi defends Kumar against criticisms of switching political alliances and counters claims made by the RJD. Tyagi stated, ‘The socialist movement is also completing ninety years, this year in nineteen thirty-four JP, Lohia and Narendra Dev together started this socialist movement. And its best lamp today is Nitish Kumar who has carried that tradition forward’. The discussion also touches upon the reasons for the JD(U) leaving the INDIA alliance, with Tyagi citing the behaviour of the Congress party towards his leader.
