In Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has spoken with Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the severe floods and landslides. Abdullah provided a briefing on the situation in the "worst hit areas" after touring parts of Jammu, particularly along the banks of the Tavi river which experienced significant damage. He stated, "a short while ago I spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and I briefed him about the situation in Jammu and Kashmir." The discussion comes as Jammu reels from monsoon fury, with residential areas inundated and rivers flowing near the danger mark. Around 3,000 people have been rescued and moved to safer locations.
