The Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has raised concerns over what it has claimed as a grave violation of human rights in Assam, following the forced eviction of thousands of poor Muslim families in Dhubri and Goalpara districts. A delegation led by Jamiat’s General Secretary Maulana Mohammad Hakeemuddin Qasmi visited the affected areas July 15-16 and has now issued a detailed report highlighting the extent of alleged state brutality and humanitarian neglect.
