India Today is the only channel to reach the spot where Israel carried out a major bombing on Sunday evening, destroying a bridge that connects southern Lebanon with the rest of the country. The Israeli Defence Forces targeted the bridge through a series of aerial strikes, severing a vital highway used by civilians and Hezbollah. The IDF warned Hezbollah against using supply lines for attacks on northern Israel. The bombing is part of Israel’s preparation for a planned ground invasion in southern Lebanon to create a buffer zone and prevent Hezbollah attacks. The IDF has extended evacuation orders beyond the Litani River, moving operations northward. Over the past three weeks, Hezbollah has mounted resistance against IDF ground forces and launched rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel. The IDF has struggled to capture major towns in southern Lebanon, including the strategic Kheim town. Following recent attacks, Israeli leadership has ordered an acceleration of operations against Hezbollah in the south.
