An India Today investigation reveals how Israel tracked and eliminated Iranian security chief Ali Larijani through constant surveillance and intelligence operations. Larijani was under 24/7 surveillance tracking his movements through real-time inputs from locals feeding movement data to intelligence agencies. A key breakthrough came when he changed his routine and moved from his residence to a secret hideout on the outskirts of Tehran at his daughter’s home. An initial strike planned for 15th March was aborted due to unconfirmed target information. However, by 16th March, critical intelligence inputs confirmed his exact location, prompting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to authorise the operation. Israeli forces launched a precision strike on the safe house, resulting in the immediate deaths of Larijani, his son and three aides. Iran has suffered heavy losses of key security figures including Basij commander Soleimani and intelligence minister Ismail Khatib. The event has intensified regional tensions with Iran vowing retaliation.
