A day after Donald Trump announced a five-day pause in the West Asia war, Israeli forces launched fresh air strikes in the heart of Tehran, triggering widespread power outages across the capital city. Trump extended the original deadline on the Strait of Hormuz, giving Iran five days before further American action on energy sites, but Israel shows no signs of slowing down. Iran launched a fresh wave of retaliatory missile and drone strikes against Israel. A barrage of missiles was intercepted over West Bank, while another missile hit a residential building in Tel Aviv, setting several cars ablaze. India Today Global editor Pranay Upadhyay, reporting from the region after crossing from Jordan to Israel, described mixed feelings among people who want the war to end but remain uncertain about the peace talks. The conflict has caused the longest air traffic turbulence in the region in many years, with disruptions lasting 25 days. While the Israeli air defense system has neutralized most threats, certain missiles and projectiles caused damage across different parts of Israel.
