Activists in Iran reported heavy strikes early Thursday morning around Isfahan, a city located 330 kilometres south of Tehran. Isfahan is home to a major Iranian airbase, military sites, and one of the nuclear facilities previously bombed during the conflict between Israel and Iran. Reports indicate the strikes targeted areas around the nuclear site. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard described the attacks as targeting two residential areas. This marks a dangerous escalation, with Isfahan becoming the latest nuclear site targeted after Natanz. Iran has launched its 80th wave of missiles towards Israel and US bases in the Gulf, warning the UAE against hosting troops or providing support to American forces. The US Central Command claims to have hit around 10,000 targets in Iran, reducing missile and drone launch capabilities by 19 percent. However, Iran continues launching missiles towards Israel and neighbouring Gulf countries. The White House has warned Iran of harsher military strikes if negotiations fail.
