Mounted police officers and protesters clashed on Saturday evening in Tel Aviv, as officers used a water cannon to disperse the protest.
Israeli demonstrators gathered in protest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and called for the release of hostages held in Gaza.
Footage captured by Associated Press showed security officers pushing protesters from the road and dispersing the crowd with a water cannon.
Divisions among the Israelis have deepened about how Netanyahu has handled the war against Hamas after the deadly attack on October 7th that killed about 1,200 people and where 250 were taken hostages.
Earlier this week the bodies of three hostages killed on Oct 7. were recovered from Gaza, Israel’s army said Friday, while the United Nations court ruled that Israel must halt its military operations in Rafah and allow humanitarian aid enter into the enclave.
