Shosh Bedrosian, spokeswoman for the Foreign Media Office of the Prime Minister of Israel, discusses the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict now in its sixth day. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated the operation could take ‘some time’, targeting the Ayatollah regime’s military capabilities, ballistic missile programs and defense systems. Bedrosian describes the operation as creating conditions for Iranian people to ‘take their destiny into their own hands’. She states Israel and the United States are working in ‘unprecedented’ cooperation through Operation Roaring Lion. When questioned about civilian casualties including an attack on a school where over 160 girls reportedly died, Bedrosian suggests Iran misfires approximately 30 per cent of the time and emphasises that investigations are ongoing. She confirms Ali Khamenei is dead as a result of the joint operation, describing him as responsible for the deaths of up to 30,000 protesters. Bedrosian rejects comparisons to Iraq 2003, stating Israel observed Iran building new underground bunker sites and expanding atomic bomb programs.
