Israel launched multiple airstrikes on Lebanon in response to several rockets fired from Lebanon into Israel, marking the worst violence since the ceasefire was implemented in November.
The Israeli military reported targeting and hitting numerous rocket launchers and a Hezbollah command center in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah is a politically and militarily backed militia by Iran.
Lebanon’s health ministry confirmed that the airstrikes resulted in seven deaths, including a child, and left 40 people injured.
Various armed groups, including Hezbollah and Palestinian factions, operate within Lebanon, and no group has yet claimed responsibility for the rocket attack.
