The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed that Israel supports US President Donald Trump’s decision to suspend strikes against Iran for two weeks, provided Iran halts all attacks and opens the straits. However, Benjamin Netanyahu’s office clarified that this ceasefire does not extend to the front against Hezbollah in Lebanon. While Israel will pause attacks on Iran, it will continue to target Hezbollah command centres as it has over the past month. This decision follows Iran’s 10-point plan, which reportedly demanded an end to strikes on its proxies, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Despite these demands, the United States has communicated its commitment to achieving long-term goals regarding Iran’s nuclear and missile threats alongside its regional allies. Israel maintains that the two-week truce is exclusive to Iran and does not include a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, where Hezbollah and Israeli forces continue to exchange fire.
