Tensions in the Middle East are reaching a boiling point! Israel has officially halted all humanitarian aid into Gaza, citing Hamas’ refusal to accept a U.S.-backed proposal to extend the ceasefire. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the move was made in coordination with Washington, following a proposal by President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, which aimed to extend the truce through Ramadan and Passover. However, Hamas has rejected the deal, calling it a "blatant coup" against the existing ceasefire agreement.
The proposed plan reportedly includes the release of half of the remaining Israeli hostages on the day the truce extension begins. However, Hamas insists that any deal must lead to a permanent ceasefire, a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, and reconstruction efforts. Aid groups, the UN, and Egypt—a key mediator—have slammed Israel’s decision, calling it a "blackmail tactic" that could worsen the humanitarian crisis.
