This week, China concluded its latest live-fire military exercise off the coast of Taiwan.
Drills reportedly involved around two dozen warships and over 50 warplanes. China says the exercise was held in response to Taiwan’s ‘separatist’ government.
Experts say China is dramatically increasing the number of military exercises. Moreover, the exercises are not just limited to the waters near Taiwan.
In this year alone, China has held military exercises off the coast of Australia and Vietnam. These drills, experts say, are meant to show China’s growing strategic ambition and reach.
