In an exclusive interview with India Today, Elnaaz Norouzi, an actor who works in Hindi cinema, discussed the ongoing conflict in Iran and the Iranian people’s perspective on the regime. Speaking as an Iranian dissident living abroad, Norouzi stated that the majority of Iranians are excited about targeted bombings against the regime, saying ‘they’re so excited and they have so much hope that finally this regime is going to fall.’ She explained that Iranians have been asking for help for years, citing the regime’s history of violence against its own people. Norouzi claimed that more than 75 percent of Iranians want the regime gone, referencing survey data. She addressed concerns about civilian casualties, stating ‘there are more people dying when there is no war than when there is war.’ Norouzi also spoke about economic hardship in Iran, gender apartheid, and claimed that millions of Iranians have called for Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi’s return during protests.
