Meanwhile, Iran has established new shipping corridors approved by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps near Larak Island, allowing Tehran to closely monitor and control vessel passage. The ongoing ceasefire remains fragile, with Iranian forces warning of retaliation if American warships enter the restricted zones. The diplomatic breakdown was partly attributed to continued Israeli bombardment in Lebanon, which violated the preconditions for a comprehensive ceasefire. Furthermore, statements from the United States leadership regarding a potential blockade of the Strait of Hormuz have raised concerns about severe disruptions to global economies, including India, which relies heavily on the route for essential imports like fertilizers and crude oil.
