Iran launched missile and drone strikes on Dubai, Kuwait City, and Bahrain within 24 hours of announcing it would not target neighbouring countries. A high-rise in Kuwait City was engulfed in flames after a drone attack, while in Bahrain, an Iranian drone targeted desalination infrastructure critical to the country’s water supply. Iran’s army claimed it struck Dubai’s marina towers, reportedly targeting a US base. Debris from intercepted missiles fell on residential areas, killing one person. The attacks occurred hours after Iran set conditions for not targeting neighbours, including demands that they not allow their land or airspace to be used by Israel or the United States for launching attacks. The escalation raises questions about the expanding conflict in the Middle East region.
