The United States has destroyed 11 Iranian warships in the Gulf of Oman, releasing video footage and thermal images of the strikes. US forces stated that two days prior, the Iranian regime had 11 ships in the Gulf of Oman, and today they have zero. The attacks targeted Iranian naval vessels in water, in addition to land-based military vehicles and weapons. The United States claimed that the Iranian regime has harassed and attacked international shipping in the Gulf of Oman for decades, and those days are now over. US forces stated that freedom of maritime navigation has underpinned American and global economic prosperity for more than 80 years, and they will continue to defend it. The strikes are part of joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran, with satellite imagery previously showing the scale of destruction at a naval base in southern Iran along the Gulf of Oman.
