Iran has laid out its conditions for ending the ongoing war, even as it reviews a US proposal delivered through intermediaries.
Tehran has made clear it will only end the conflict on its own terms. Its conditions reportedly include a complete halt to US and Israeli attacks, guarantees against future military action, compensation for war damages, and recognition of its control over the Strait of Hormuz.
At the same time, Iran is reviewing a US-backed proposal, conveyed via Pakistan, but has signalled that its initial response is not positive and that indirect messaging does not amount to negotiations.
The US proposal is said to include demands such as curbs on Iran’s nuclear programme and missile capabilities, highlighting a wide gap between both sides’ positions as the war continues.
