Iran has been targeting US allies in the region, including military bases and key infrastructure. The incident occurs on the 18th day of the West Asia conflict, with no signs of de-escalation. Iraqi defence systems successfully thwarted the Iranian missiles before they could reach the US Embassy compound in Baghdad. Iran continues to mount attacks on US allies in the Gulf region, with Iraq being the latest target.
