Iran Strikes Near Israel’s Dimona Nuclear Facility. Over 100 have been wounded in Arad & Dimona amid escalating Iran-Israel War. In the ongoing US-Israel-Iran War, Iran launched ballistic missiles directly targeting southern Israeli towns Dimona and Arad near the Shimon Peres Negev Nuclear Research Center (Dimona nuclear facility). This marked a major escalation and tit-for-tat retaliation after Israel’s/US strikes hit Iran’s Natanz nuclear enrichment site earlier that day. Israeli air defence systems failed to intercept at least two missiles, resulting in direct impacts that shattered buildings and caused widespread damage in residential areas.
Over 100 people were injured across the strikes, around 88 in Arad (including 10 in critical/serious condition, with children among the seriously hurt) and dozens more in Dimona (including a 12-year-old boy requiring surgery). No fatalities were immediately reported from this barrage, and the nuclear research center itself sustained no damage, with no abnormal radiation detected. Benjamin Netanyahu has condemned Iran’s attacks on Dimona.
