Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has told Iranian media that Iran is not seeking any ceasefire and no messages have been exchanged with the US regarding any mediation. Araghchi stated that the war needs to end with guarantees that such attacks do not happen again. Earlier reports from Qatar suggested no mediation process was underway between the US and Iran. The conflict has now entered its 17th day with no resolution in sight. The Strait of Hormuz has emerged as a critical pressure point, disrupting energy supplies globally. Countries including Japan, South Korea, and India are urging the US to facilitate the reopening of this vital shipping channel. President Donald Trump has claimed Iran wants to talk, which Iran has denied. Israel’s ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, responded that Iran is not in a position to dictate conditions and Israel will continue operations to achieve its objectives.
