US President Donald Trump has urged Iranians to continue protesting and “take over” their institutions as Iran’s clerical leadership intensifies its crackdown on the biggest demonstrations in years. In posts on Truth Social and in a public address, Trump told protesters that “help is on its way” and called on them to remember the names of those responsible for abuses. Iranian officials say about 2,000 people have been killed during more than two weeks of unrest, while the rights group HRANA says most of the dead were protesters and tens of thousands have been detained.
